red hot chili peppers “stadium arcadium”

GRAMMY AWARD WINNER 2006. It doesn’t get much more legendary or unique than the Chili Peppers. There’s a lot that can be said about this once in a lifetime project (like the crayon drawing Anthony gave Varnish to base the cover on) but, here’s a favorite story: during cover explorations, Varnish was asked to show work in progress to the band at “The Mansion” (Rick Rubin’s legendary Laurel Canyon recording studio) where the band was rehearsing. Upon arrival, Varnish was asked to wait – the rehearsals were going well. So, for about 30-ish minutes, the band rehearsed, rocking out in the next room loud AF. They practiced underneath that massive American flag draped from the ceiling, it felt like the paint was peeling from the mansion – all for about 5 people. Not bad, not bad at all - take your time fellas.
